haven't read the book, i can't do any comparison with the movie, though i'm sure the book will be better as usual. you might call it a love story, but i find it's more like a man's obsession in love. how he tried every way to get the woman of his dreams including breaking his own vow in order to punish himself or probably even the woman indirectly. wll i guess when it's meant to be it will be regardless of how long it take for it to come true. a loooong movie with great cinematography.pic. courtesy of imdb.com
