here comes that day of the year again. the day i'd see loads of rose seller along raffles place and how busy those flower shops around the area are. the day where me and few wormkates waited anxiously for the delivery man to send a bouquet to the IT lady *because her bouquet normally has a minimum of 100 roses* . the day you'd see loads of girls carrying a bouquet on their hand on their way home.
during uni time, me and 2 friends took the opportunity of this day for business - selling chocolates and flowers to felow uni students. we're busy finding rocks to balance the basket, i was busy taking care of the roses i bought from the flower market near home to depok to hand it over to our customer (unfortunately some of the roses got ugly after the strong wind from the metro mini ride). we did make some money though - i think Rp25,000/person. not bad, eh.
few years ago me and my ex-flatmate went for a midnight movie and decided not to do one again on this day. i believe we're the only one without the opposite sex companions and not holding anything in our hand then.
yeah, this day is always overrated. i don't really give a darn about it as it's not one that is celebrated in my belief nor my culture. but that doesn't mean i will say no to any chance or meeting friends nor will i stop myself from having fun peeking at my workmate's flowers. it's also fun seeing those teenage couples on the streets looking shy with the flowers in their hand while the guy looks proud for being the provider of that flower. and i can't wait to see the display of affection tonight as i'll be in town watching a romance movie.
